I am having the same problem with my charts again this morning. Right around 8:45 – 9:00 AM, it started printing this large bar. I have closed my charts and re-opened them several times and reloaded the data and the large bar persists for now. Is anyone else encountering this issue? If so, please post a reply to this and let me know. I’m not sure if it is the brokerage, or NT. I am going to try opening my chart with a different brokerage and see if that narrows it down for me. This is a bit frustrating knowing that the chart is not printing the data properly. Luckily, it has not occurred during a trade for me. Maybe it would not matter, but I don’t want to take any chances when trading.
I get the same error no matter which broker I use. I opened an MES chart, and it looks exactly the same, so it must be some data glitch of some type? Just ignore the data in the blue box, as that is where the issue occurred, same as yesterday. I will work on narrowing down a fix for this. Hopefully it is something simple or some issue with NT that they can fix.
Prices look range bound again today. It appears that prices are trying to fill the gap on the chart that was left with the lower open at 8:30 AM CST this morning. The target to fill that gap is 7434.00. I would expect mixed trading today no matter the outcome. If and when that gap is filled, we could see prices continue higher or even turn and trend back down again. Treat this like a range day for now, and just follow the price action wherever it takes you.
I ran into no issues with data this morning (yesterday I had the same issue as you). I use the NT brokerage data.

Hi Mack, I had the same issue and reported it to NT (2month ago, I had the same issue and reported it was well and at that time they told me it was an issue on their server side). I would suggest that everybody with this issue report it to ninja trader (in the software, in the section Help, there is contact support).
Yeah, I and others have been having this issue today and yesterday. Also a couple times over the past couple weeks. I’m not sure what’s causing it, it seems to be an issue with wherever NT is pulling the historical data from. It *seems* like it happens more on higher volume/volatility days where the ATR is above 5, and it seems like it’s happened mostly around 8:50, 9 AM, for me. I reloaded my chart a few minutes ago, around 9:45 AM CST, and it’s loaded the bars correctly again. It seems like one bandaid-fix workaround is to just never reload your bars once you open your chart in the morning. Once you reload — or if you close the program and come back to it later — if Ninjatrader’s source for historical data is having this same missing data glitch, then you’ll have that data gap and the weird giant bars in place of the missing price action.
This chart looks super different to mine, with way more bars. Is the ES 2000 tick chart, or is it still the MES from when you were testing out the bars?
I’m seeing this big candle as well. I’m using an evaluation account through Tradovate, and connecting to it from NT. I believe it has to do with how NT interprets the data given that we are most likely on different data feeds

Thanks for all of the replies. In my haste to get the chart posted, I accidentally posted the MES chart, so I didn’t even get the right chart posted today. lol My ES chart has the same large bar though, so I don’t trust the data anyway. It appears to be an NT issue (all historical data comes from them no matter your broker as I understand it), so I will contact NT and complain. Hopefully they can get it fixed soon!
Yesterday was fine and I didn’t get the big bar you got today either, but I did get one later around 10:35 CT after price feed disconnected and reconnected. Reloaded my chart and it was fixed.
I cleared my cache and waited a while, and it finally went away. But even after I cleared my cache, it was still there for like thirty minutes.

I cleared my cache and reloaded and it fixed it eventually. It didn’t do it right away though, I still had to wait 30 minutes and reload again. Not sure why that keeps happening, hope people are able to fix it.
