Mack’s Mid-Morning ES Price Action Chart 05-01-2024

As expected, prices and volume are stagnant as the market waits for today’s FOMC news release at 1 PM CST. Prices could still move at some point prior to that report being released, but normally the market is rather quiet going into this announcement. As I always suggest, make sure you are flat at least an hour prior to this news release.

For now, the volume is thin, and prices are mostly stuck in a tight range. All of the big news items are done other than the 1 PM CST FOMC announcement, so you should be clear to trade up until 12 Noon CST. At that point, be flat and wait for the announcement and for the volatility to subside before attempting any new trade entries.
