Just a quick update on my status. We still have no power and no water, so I am not attempting to come back to work yet. The roads are clearing a bit, and it has gotten above freezing for a couple of hours during the day yesterday and hopefully again today, so I will be using that time to get some of the downed trees cleared from my property. I will most likely take the rest of this week and use it to just try and get things back to minimum comforts. I do have backup heat, so we are able to stay warm as long as we continue to have the fuel to run kerosene heaters. I’m down to about 20 gals, but that should last a week or so if we only use it during the cold nights.

Power is starting to come back online in places, and they are working on it diligently, but I have been told it could be weeks for some people. Hoping mine comes on sooner, rather than later, but I am just not sure at this point, as no one has any straight answers. I’m comfortable and safe, so I appreciate people asking. Since we have a hard time keeping phones charged up, I am not reading any email or anything and only using my phone for emergency needs. If you have an email out to me, I likely have not read it and probably won’t get the opportunity until we have power again.

I will update you if anything changes, but as of now, I’m shooting for Monday Feb 2nd to be back in the office with a regular schedule. Hopefully we have power and hot water by that point, but if not, I will update you then. If you are affected by this storm, stay safe and as warm as possible. See you on Monday, God willing.

Mack

I’m glad you’re doing alright. I’m in the southern Mid Atlantic, and we got hammered but not nearly as bad as the South. I’ll pray for you, your family and others affected by the ice storm. Hopefully we will get some warmer days soon.
